Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you create a TERITER account, we collect your name and email address, and — if you sign up with Google — your Google profile name, email, and profile photo. If you create a password-based account instead, we store a securely hashed version of your password (we never store or can see your actual password). We also store whatever itinerary content, comments, and photos you choose to create or upload.

How we use it

Your account data is used to run the core product: showing your name/photo on trips you author and comments you post, letting you sign back in, and letting other users find and follow your public profile and public trips. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Email addresses you invite

If you share a private trip with someone who doesn't have a TERITER account, we store the email address you entered so we can send them a one-time invite link, and we keep it until the invite is accepted or you remove it. That address is only ever shown back to you — never to the other people you've shared the trip with. Unclaimed invites expire after 14 days and are deleted 90 days after that. Only enter an address for someone you know is expecting to hear from you about the trip. If you were invited and would rather not have been, ignoring the email is enough: no account is created and no access is given until you accept it. To have your address removed sooner, contact us at support@teriter.online.

Cookies

We set one cookie, teriter_session, to keep you signed in. It's required for the app to function — there's no cookie consent banner because this cookie isn't used for tracking or advertising, only authentication.

Third parties we use

  • Google — if you use "Continue with Google," Google shares your name, email, and profile photo with us per your consent on their sign-in screen.
  • Supabase — uploaded photos (cover images, avatars) are stored on Supabase's cloud storage.
  • Resend — sends our transactional email (trip-sharing notices and invites), and so receives the recipient's address.
  • Aiven — our database (your account and trip data) is hosted on Aiven's managed MySQL service.
  • Fly.io and Vercel — our backend and website are hosted on these platforms respectively.

Your data, your control

You can update your name, bio, and photo at any time from your profile. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your profile settings. To request a copy of your data, contact us at support@teriter.online.
